Time to finally retire the (unused) snow blower for the season and get down and dirty!  The Parkside Garden Tour is among the first garden tours to lead off the National Garden Tour Festival locally. Let's make it an over-the-top and successful event by enrolling your comfortable container garden or all encompassing mega-garden.

Maybe you have some indoor plants that you'd like to bring out front for display or just a little extra sun. The Garden Tour is the perfect opportunity to show your handiwork and have some fun along the way --- talking with visitors and sharing your passion. The garden tour is about weaving a neighborhood quilt of color and beauty, not a “best garden” contest.

Last year, the Garden Tour committee hosted two successful alternative events to cater to those visitors who were looking for a time-out from or an alternative to, flora viewing ---

An audio/visual presentation by local resident and author of “The Complete History of Parkside”, Steve Cichon, will give an engaging and memorable recounting of the history of Parkside, touching on significant people and events that determined Parkside's evolution. Following that, for a small fee, veteran Parksider and docent, George Stock, will take you on an neighborhood walking tour with a narrative of the myriad architectural styles integrated into the homes of prominent Buffalo families ---  interspersed with enjoyable local folklore.

To top it all off, the National Garden Festival will be launching their 1st Annual “Buffalo-Style Garden Art Sale” in Delaware Park at the Lodge on Parkside Ave, across the street from Florence and the Tot Lot. Besides “Buffalo-Style” garden art for sale, plant societies and other vendors will be in attendance. The event is scheduled to run from 10am to 6pm the day of our garden tour, June 24th. So it should make for a full day of activity for visitors to the neighborhood.
