Dear Neighbors and Friends,
As we close out the year and look forward to the PCA's 48th year of service, we face some very serious challenges. Problems with the New York State budget have directly affected our ability to offer services to children. All the funds for after school programs were cut throughout the state! For us that meant a loss of almost $68,000 and our talented art director, Paula Dolega. This loss also threatens the future of our enormously successful Summer Arts Program, but the PCA Board is working diligently to preserve its funding.
You may have heard that the PCA was awarded $700,000 in grants. These dollars are reserved for restoration work on our building and for loans to businesses on Main Street. The funds cannot be used to provide or enhance programs.
The bottom line is that we can no longer depend on government funding to sustain us. That makes PCA membership and this Annual Appeal all the more important. Would you consider making a year-end gift to the PCA? Your generosity will make a positive impact on our community. Thank you in advance for your commitment to support the efforts of the PCA.
Sincerely,
Ruth Lampe
