Parkside Annual Chili Cook-off

The Annual Parkside Chili Cook-off has been held each February since 2011 at Jewett Hall of the Church of the Good Shepherd. The cook-off is competitive and the Best Overall trophy is awarded by judges from Buffalo Firefighters at Engine 34/Ladder 7. Additional prizes are awarded to Crowd Favorite and Most Original.

On Saturday February 4th 2012, approximately 80 people enjoyed chili from 13 entries. Awards were given to Jim Favasula for "Most Creative" and Joe Pendolino as for  "People's Choice", our grand champion, as determined by the firefighters of Engine 34/Ladder 7, was Kate Bukowski. Kate's name has ben engraved into our Chili Trophy, which we expect to be prominently displayed on her mantle for the next 12 months.

About 50 people attended the 2011 Chili Cook-off and sampled 13 chili dishes. The best overall chili award went to Len Mattie for his "3 Day Chili". The Most Creative chili award went to Pat Lalonde. The People's Choice award was a tie and the prize was shared between Ron Wagner and Eric Harvey.
